About Me

I moved to Haslemere, Surrey in 1991 with my husband having moved from Portsmouth. I continued to commute to London each day working in Business Travel for Hogg Robinson at London Bridge and previously for Thomas Cook. My life in 1993 changed completely when I gave birth to my first daughter. Having given up work to become a full time mum I began a whole new life! And this is where my passion for exercise began!

During my pregnancy I had gained too much weight and after the birth decided that long-term I needed to lose about 3 stone. I felt ‘fat’ and unhealthy, uncomfortable in my clothes, and hated to look in the mirror. My confidence and self esteem were at an all time low. Despite the way I looked and felt I started to go along to the group exercise classes at the Herons. I was instantly hooked! The music was uplifting, the people really friendly (in fact many are now my closest friends) and exercise did not feel like an effort. It was easy, it was fun and gradually over the months (combined also with healthy eating) the weight started to drop off. I felt more energised, I was confident; I liked the way I looked and how I felt inside.

In 2003 I decided to qualify as a Group Exercise Fitness Instructor and have never looked back since!
